The tablecloth on the dining table is the same attribute of comfort in each house. Sewing a tablecloth to customize the shape of your hands, is simple enough. Making an oval tablecloth is more challenging than making a square or rectangular tablecloth. Oval shapes do not have flat edges, which can make them difficult to cut and sew.
If you have a larger table, you will probably have to join two pieces of cloth to make an oval tablecloth 60×102 wide enough to fit on the table correctly. You can also sew two types of fabric together to create a different style of the tablecloth. Wash and dry the pieces of fabric to pre-shrink it. Iron both pieces and remove wrinkles. Place two pieces of cloth on the table. Mark the edge of the oval table around the edges of the fabric and then remove it from the table. It measures 7 inches (17.78 centimeters) from the chalk mark on the tablecloth. Draw a second oval at this point, around the original.
Cut the oval shape along the outer line. Place two pieces of fabric together in the seam line. Sew the two pieces together using a seam allowance of 0.5 inches (1.27 centimeters). Place the oval tablecloth target on the table again. Cut unnecessary areas where the fabric hangs unevenly. Sew the lower edge of the tablecloth with serge to prevent fraying.
