There is no need to put your makeup on the bathroom sink when you can create a makeup vanity that will both save your makeup and give you a great place to put it on. The realization of a vanity is one of the easiest DIY home decor projects imaginable. All you need is a flat surface, something to support it with, vanity chair or a stool and a mirror. Add a piece of fabric to tie it all together and you’ve got a stylish vanity.
To make your own makeup vanity, you need two narrow shelves or storage cubbies of the same height to act as your vanity’s side supports. These shelves must be wide and deep enough to firmly support a top while providing space between for you to pull vanity chair or stool up and they should be a comfortable height for applying makeup while sitting down.
If you’re super-turning, you can make your cover even more useful by cutting and hemming a slit in the middle to provide easier access to shelves or cubbies downstairs. The glass or plexiglass will go on top of vanity over the fabric, so cleanup is a play. You may want to buy enough fabric to cover vanity chair or stool you want to use with your vanity for a coordinated look.
