Many kitchens are in chronic need of more storage space. By building your own ikea butcher block storage unit, not only will you have more storage opportunities, but you will also have a suitable surface for the power cut. Go back on purpose to an old, or smaller, kitchen piece of furniture and modify it to turn it into a custom storage unit. Or you can buy a pre-made base cabinet and use it in the same way.
Other supplies for this project are available in home improvement and hardware stores. Remove the drawers and/or shelves from the cabinet for easier access to the interior. Set the butcher block for kitchen island on top of the casing and center it so that the eave is the same on all four sides. Insert your hand into the box and connect the butcher block in place. Screw through the cabinet brackets and into the butcher block. For this, in the four corners of the unit. Spread an old towel or blanket on a flat work surface.
Rotate the cabinet and place it on the blanket, so it is resting on the ikea butcher block. Install the wheels in each corner with the included screws. Turn the right side of the cabinet and replace the drawers and shelves. Paint the cabinet, so that the back matches the rest of the cabinet. Or you can buy what is known as an end cap.
